Michael
S. Bare is a long-time resident of the Chicagoland area. He graduated
from Wheaton College in 2003 with a BA in Communications, then spent a
year working as a clerk at a Wheaton law firm before pursuing further
graduate studies. In 2005, Michael began working toward a dual degree
at Valparaiso University, where he received a MA in Liberal Arts in 2007 and a JD in 2008.
While at Valparaiso University, Michael interned with Kids' Law, a
non-profit law firm specializing in child guardianship matters, as well as the National Law Center for Children and Families, where he assisted in its nationwide project of drafting child endangerment case law
manuals for state prosecutors.
Michael has been licensed to practice law in Illinois since 2009. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar
Association, and the Chicago Bar Association. Along with his legal practice responsibilities, Michael occasionally contributes columns to his local newspaper, The Regional. The column is titled "Local Legal", and highlights general legal topics of potential interest to the members of his community.
Michael has a lovely wife of five years, and is father to four children ages four and under. He volunteers time as an advisory board member for the Chicago branch of Bethany Christian Services, and serves as a congregational music leader at Four Corner Community Church in Darien. He also enjoys gardening, cooking, photography, reading, and watching professional sports.
